YOU'D THINK BY NOW WE'D BE ROLLING OUT. . .
Thursday was the first day of summer and skijoring is probably the last thing on most people's minds. . . our athletes are busy competing at rodeos, climbing mountains, putting up hay, cycling down mountain sides, training horses or simply enjoying the long, lazy days of summer with cold beers and bbq's.
Well, a few folks out there might be doing some ditch surfing, turf sliding or beach riding and like them we can't get enough of our rogue sport
so. . .
Your team at SKIJOR USA is not taking any time off this summer,
and we are working for you day in and day out!

We are thrilled to announce another Qualifying Race in 2019
Gunnison, Colorado on February 16th & 17th
The skijoring event will be held in conjunction with one of Gunnison's biggest alumni events, and organizers are hoping to attract many Western State Colorado University students and graduates as well as local riders and skiers!
SJUSA competitors can qualify for points in the Southern Division at the Gunnison race, so more experienced teams may also want to mark their calendars and head to Gunnison.
LET'S WELCOME GUNNISON TO THE FOLD!
Brittany Leafe, who is helping to organize the Gunnison race, competed as a Sport skier in Leadville this year pulled by locals Nick Ehlenfeldt, Rafael Bujanda and Jorge Calzadillas. She and Tylynn Smith were the only two women to give Leadville's infamous course a go on skis.
So we know Brittany and her team have what it takes to put on a great event!

Speaking of strong female athletes in our community
SKIJOR USA would like to recognize the recent accomplishment of
Cierra Kunesh
who finished first place in barrel racing
at the PRCA Pro Rodeo in Fort Benton, Montana
yesterday, Friday, June 22nd
Cierra rode Porky Jones to victory with a time of 15.89.
She was the only competitor to break 16 seconds.

GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS
Since our corporation is now officially filed as a 501(c)3
SKIJOR USA had its first Corporate Council Meeting today.
Minutes have been posted on our website.
Among the topics discussed was the appointment of Member Race Delegates. We have ten Qualifying Races now, and three more to be determined officially. Others may follow. Each is entitled to select a spokesperson who will represent their race committee and attend SJUSA meetings. Skijor USA is very excited to build this team of enthusiastic leaders some of whom are experienced but many of whom are new to putting on a skijoring event, so let's work side by side and make our 2019 Race Circuit and Championship Finals the best our sport has ever seen!

We are committed to building our sport in a responsible manner and to ensuring that FUN and SAFETY are at the top of the list at every event.
We feel that if we can grow our events and competitor base through a positive and well structured program, that there will be room for more races going forward and that they will, in fact, help and complement each other not compete with each other. We also feel that this will benefit competitors in the long run. Lastly, we are also doing our best to have sponsors come rolling in shortly.
Thank you for your ongoing votes of confidence as we strive to take
Triple Cross Pro Skijoring to the next level.
