~ SKIJOR SUMMIT ~
For the first time,
a group of organizers and advisors
will be getting together in advance of the season
in Las Vegas during the NFR
or National Finals Rodeo.
SKIJOR SUMMIT
December 6th - 7th, 2023
Las Vegas, NV
Since April this past year,
a small group has been engaging in
conference calls every two weeks.
In these calls we have been discussing the sport
in terms of where it has been, how we can improve it currently,
and where it has potential to go.
The group's appetite for healthy debate
and cohesion toward a common purpose
is admirable and tantamount to equine skijoring
truly getting the exposure it deserves.
For anyone who may find themselves in
Las Vegas
this coming week for the NFR,
please let us know.
We'd love to have a cup of coffee, an ice cold beer
or a shot of whiskey with you!

We will cover the results of the
first annual
SKIJOR SUMMIT
in our next newsletter.
We will be setting objectives
for 2024 and beyond.
This year's participants have already demonstrated
a keen ability to showcase the best that the sport has to offer
by organizing highly successful races
or by serving the community
after many years of competition and/or volunteerism.
Our goal is not to
"kick the can down the road"
meaning, continue to delay response
to the challenges that face equine skijoring,
but rather to confront and address these challenges
as a group and find solutions together.
We are starting in 2023 with a small group initially,
but we would love to see this tradition
recur in Las Vegas and expand every year!
