In Leadville, Colorado this past weekend,
a certain legendary competitor sat down with a Skijor USA
Corporate Council Member and offered some words of wisdom.
"Stay the course," he said. And we shall.
We have made excellent progress in just one year
as members of our Advisory Committee
and our Hall of Fame Committee
acknowledged
in a meeting this past Wednesday afternoon.
The emphasis in 2020 will be on safety and consistency
and growing our circuit and our sponsorships.

The SJUSA
National Championship Finals
March 22nd, 23rd & 24th
is open to ALL teams and you are ALL "invited" to compete
alongside those teams who have nominated for points in 2019.
SKIJOR WEST
will be using Competitive Timing
which has partnered with many of our Skijor USA races.
Registration is $125 per team for the weekend,
and we are using a 3D Format.
Skijor West is a family friendly enviornment with additional opportunities
besides skijoring to enjoy such as a
dog keg pull
and
live music both Friday & Saturday nights.
Riders please be aware of the hay requirement.
All hay must be certified weed free forage and tied with blue or orange string.
The US Forest Service will have personnel inspecting the forage, as part of the event venue has been permitted to occur on USFS property.
Josh Abbott will be offering certified hay delivered at $12/bale.
They are approximately 75 pound bales and 70/30 grass/alfalfa mix.

but competitors must provide gates/panels/fencing.

The 71st annual Leadville Skijoring event
was a success with over 60 teams competing
from Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, New Mexico, Minnesota
and of course, Colorado!
Legends Jerry Kissell, Dana Stiles and Tony Fox,
to name some of our committee members,
participated in the event.
Event organizers from 8 SJUSA races
were present in Leadville,
and we were all able to reflect on the season
and brainstorm for 2020.
We all look forward to Leadville's 72nd year,
and organizers will always have Skijor USA's full support.
