has a BOLD, NEW look!
In keeping with the times, we have redesigned our logo.
We are following current trends which are going ever more abstract.
For example, check out the new US Open Tennis Championship and the
FIS Alpine World Ski Championshiip logos!
Just like the name,
Triple Cross Skijoring,
this will put us in a league with the
top sporting events of our time and
attract more pro athletes and corporate sponsors.
We hope you will all be open minded to this exciting change.
Our promise is to take equine skijoring to the next level

Our ultimate goal is to get you the results for which you have all been asking!

NEW DATE & NEW SERIES
Our Soldier Hollow, Utah race
will be held on
Friday, February 22nd & Saturday, February 23rd
Skijoring Utah announced the date
on social media this past week, and it got an enthusiastic response
so, mark your calendars!
Registration will open shortly.
Soldier Hollow, near Park City, will be the last race in a series called
The SJUSA Triple Cross Triple Crown
which will also include
Steamboat Springs, CO and Jackson Hole, WY.
Three major races in three major ski resorts
with its own title and prize!

BUILDING A STRONG TEAM
Skijor USA's Corporate Council Members
met with our Sponsorship Committee last week
&
This coming week we are meeting again with race organizers
at our 3rd Organizers' Summit
on Monday, August 20th at 5:30 PM.
There are 20 weeks before our first race!
While this gives us plenty of time to build our team, retain sponsorships and
prepare for 2019, it is also a reminder that summer is coming to a close, and time is of the essence!

KEEPING THE TRADITION ALIVE
HALL OF FAME
We are working on a Nomination Form and
a first draft, submitted by one of our committee members, is under review.
We will be accepting nominations
from September 2018 through February 2019
and inductee(s) will be voted upon by and announced at
the National Championship Finals
in West Yellowstone, Montana
on March 9th and 10th.
SKIJOR USA TROPHY
A new trophy design is in the works,
and we were able to obtain
a second Tiffany & Company crystal horse head
so a pair is now planned!

enjoys photographing rodeo and skijoring.

Erik Petersen, of Livingston, Montana,
works in both still and video photography.
He is about to release a Short Film called
THE RIDE
which will be entered and shown at film festivals this fall.

Aaron proposed to Katy last November 22nd and nearly one year later,
on October 13, 2018,
the happy couple will make it official!
Aaron distinguished himself as the
2016 Skijor Overall Sport Champion Skier
&
2017 Skijor Overall Open Champion Skier
that year teaming up with
EBBIE HANSEN & ZEEK THE STREAK
He finished in the top 5 in 2018.
We wish Aaron the best in our 2019 season!
Katy, the granddaughter of Richard "Dick" Klick and daughter of Todd Klick,
is a member of a highly respected cattle ranching family
of the legendary K Bar L Ranch in Simms, Montana.
She is trained in embryonics and
works at her family ranch, Klick Angus.
Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
Aaron and Katy are not the only "skier meets rancher" romance!
ANDREW BYRON
of Jackson Hole, Wyoming also married his cowgirl sweetheart
whose family owns the Snake River Ranch
at the base of Teton Village
where our skijoring races were held in 2016.

SUMMER ACHIEVEMENTS
Congratulations to
TIM GUEST & WILSON PIKE
for their team's success at the Blackjack Roping Arena in Kalispell, MT.
They won the 10 Steer yesterday
and placed second at the World Series today
which qualifies them for the World Series Finals.
